Snow and Pearls (Kar ve İnci)

On December 21st, a woman named Gece steps into a palace on the Bosphorus, wearing simple shoes and a modest dress to attend a night organized for a famous composer. Separated from everyone and everything in the room, only two people recognize her. But they remain silent.

In the hall, there is also a little girl whom only the composer can see. Barefoot, her hair wet, this little girl has been following the composer for years.

The second scene opens in a white hospital room. A young girl pulled from the sea remembers nothing—except for the small girl waiting to be saved.

Another Nihan Kaya novel where the pieces fall into place later, Snow and Pearls surrounds its multilayered, symbolic narrative with music and psychoanalysis. A complex psychological fiction for lovers of intricate storytelling.

“You were silent,” he said.
I hadn’t been silent.
There’s a big difference between being silent and choosing not to speak.
