Ivory Well Volum 1 (Fildişi Kuyu Cilt 1)

Reuniting with her readers in Okuyan Us after Beni Zorla Sağma, Bırak Ben Emzireyim Seni, Nihan Kaya greets her reader with a new preface for Ivory Well!

Ivory Well is a collection of papers Nihan Kaya has presented at international psychology conferences over the past two decades. In this work, she explores the relationship between healing and creation, stating that the place where we heal is the same as the place we create. Kaya defines this place not as an ivory tower, but as an ivory well, and through examples from both Turkish and world literature, she sheds light on the connection between literature, creativity, and healing.

The first volume of Ivory Well, titled Exclusion, explores not only being excluded by family and society but also the parts of ourselves that we exclude. It delves into how these excluded parts transform into problems in our daily lives. In this volume, the reader not only witnesses how literary texts can serve as mirrors to face the parts of ourselves we’ve cast aside but also experiences the confrontation themselves.
